Annette has brought a new perspective on outpatient infusion services to LCI-Southpark. Everything Annette does is centered on our patients - their comfort, experience and overall level of care provided to them. She has transformed our infusion center into one that is patient centric. She has initiated aromatherapy, music, healthier snacks, art therapy, and inspirational messages just to name a few of the innovative changes Annette has made at LCI Southpark.
Annette is passionate and committed to our LCI patients. She is always seeking out ways to improve upon the patient experience. She recently approached me about applying for grants to fund additional resources for our infusion center such as comfortable side chairs for companions while patients are being treated. Annette will take upon herself ways to seek out resources to help make our infusion environment better for our patients. Annette recently started the Healing Touch program offered through the college (affiliated with our healthcare organization). It is her goal to be able to offer this service to our LCI patients as well.
Annette has also created an infusion orientation pamphlet for new infusion patients. Annette recognized that patients new to the infusion environment have several basic types of questions. The pamphlet serves as a resource to families of our patients as well. I would also like to mention that Annette noticed a need for our patients to connect with our staff on a personal level. As a result, Annette helped create a "Meet our Staff" board in infusion. This board has personal pictures of infusion staff and lists favorite activities, hobbies, etc. It gives our staff a human, personable side. This has been a joy for infusion patients to see and learn more about our staff. It has helped them to connect thanks to Annette!
