Angie Otto was the house supervisor during our Grandfather's stay. She was originally in the trauma room with me although I did not realize it at the time as there was a lot going on. She appeared again in ICU several days later and re-introduced herself. At this point, we were having to decide to switch my Grandfather to comfort care. I was having a really hard time with it; Angie kneeled down by me, shared her own experience with her mother and the reality of things. This is exactly what I needed to hear to make the best decision for our Gramps. It helped his daughters as well.
Angie went above and beyond to help us get our grandfather comfortable and allow him to see his dogs while in the hospital. The poodles are his kids. All he wanted, in the end, was to have them with him; she made that happen and we were transferred within 30 minutes. When it came time to meet with Hospice at the hospital, I had an anxiety attack and left the room. Angie appeared again; she brought me tissues and comforted me. Even after his passing we still remember her and what she did for our family. We will be forever grateful for her!
