I am truly touched by the caring and compassion that Andy shows his patients in general, however, this one patient case really stood out to me. A patient was admitted to the ICU with many social needs. This gentleman happened to be homeless with very little financial resources. It was obvious upon his admission that he needed his clothing washed. Andy took the gentleman's clothing home to wash and he purchased additional articles of clothing so that the gentleman would have a change of clothes to rotate into. He replaced the gentleman's duffel bag so that he would have a bag to transport his items. He also placed money in the pockets to assist him in purchasing a meal.
I feel that this took a real act of compassion. This is why we are in this profession.
