My wife and I experienced the loss of our unborn child at 34 weeks. While our time on the 4th floor should have been one of joy and excitement, we came in with fear and loss. We were dejected and so sad. While we were not doing well, we truly were given angels. I can't even count on my fingers how many times our nurses were there for us, helping us, comforting us, and making sure that through our terrible time we were well taken care of.
Katie and Andrea were our night nurses, and Kimberlee was our day shift nurse, and they were all exceptional. They walked us through the steps and restated everything that the doctor had told us, as we struggled with our reality. They gave us our time and comforted us, because at this time that is what we needed. I truly believe that if it was not for these three taking care of my wife, and checking in on me, this would have been even more of a struggle than it already was. They consistently checked on us, cried with us, and empathized with us beyond belief.
I am so grateful for the extraordinary nurses that we had. As we walked through one of the darkest parts of our life, they were there with us showing us the way, giving us the light and carrying us out. While they couldn't take away the pain of the loss that we have experienced, they certainly helped to ease it. I can't say enough wonderful things about all three of them, and I am so grateful for them.
