In February, my husband and I were faced with the devastating news that our daughter had passed in utero at 39 weeks. I presented to Blessing Hospital Labor and Delivery for an induction. Soon after arriving, Amy walked into my room with an open heart and mind. Amy talked to my husband and me along with both of our families with theupmostrespect and truly treated all of us like her own family. She walked with us all throughout the day and never once made any of us feel that she didn't want to be right there with us. Amy held my hand, hugged me at the exact right moments and shed tears with all us on several occasions. She assisted my husband and me with some of the most terrifying decisions we had ever had to make and treated us with the

Amy's shift was to end that night at 7pm and she stayed with us until our daughter was born at 8:52pm and for an additional hour at least. Amy was the first to clothe her and placed her in my arms. She baptized her and sat with us as we discussed all of her beautiful little features that would soon be just a memory. Amy took the time to answer my questions about different things that most new mothers don't have to ask. I have told many and think it always; that there are angels that walk among us and Amy is truly one of them. She made the best out of our devastating situation and for that I thank her.
God blessed my husband and I soon after losing our daugher with the pregnancy of our son. At this time, I contacted Amy via Facebook and thanked her for all she had done during the birth of our daughter. At this time I told Amy that I would love for her to be able to share with us the birth of our son which was supposed to be on Christmas Eve. Amy responded by saying that she had to pick an upcoming Holiday to work and what better way to spend it. I ended up being induced a week early and guess whose smiling face walked into my room bright and early at7amin December. Amy was there with my husband and I as we welcomed and said goodbye to our daughter and helped us welcome our son into the world. She truly is an inspiration and is what all nurses need to be. Amy showed me that there are amazing people in this world that do go above and beyond their call of duty. She inspired me to pay it forward and I have since became oneof Blessing's SHARE facilitators in hope to be able to help another mother, father, or family during such a devastating time.

Amy was my nurse during the recent birth of my son. This being my first child, I had lots of uncertainties of how things would go. Amy was very caring and understanding. She always made sure I understood what was going on and if I got emotional she would console me. She walked me through my epidural, something I was very anxious about. Once my son was born, we found out he had some breathing issues and would be sent to St. John's in Springfield. Amy stayed with us and I know this was after her shift ended. She made sure I was comfortable with everything and even got me ready to be discharged the next day so I could be with my son. Even my family was impressed by the time she took to explain things to them. She even checked on me the following morning. I just don't know what I would have done without her as my nurse. I cannot say enough good things about her.
