The first recipient of The DAISY Award at Belton Regional Medical Center is Amy Clossick-Roudebush, RN. Amy, a 1997 BSN graduate from Avila University, has been an employee at BRMC since 2001. She worked for many years on the Medical/Surgical Unit and transferred to the Outpatient Department – Oncology in August 2011. Amy received the award during a ceremony held at the hospital during Nurse’s Week.
Amy was nominated by co-worker who wrote in the nomination letter that she was nominating Amy because of her ability to connect with patients and coworkers. She stated, “Amy maintains a high level of professionalism when working with the patient, yet is able to connect with them on a personal level and make them feel valued and important.” She said that patients frequently ask for Amy to be their nurse.
Amy is a valued and respected member of the Outpatient Department team as demonstrated by the following statement in Loretta’s nomination, “Overall, Amy is a compassionate, professional, friendly, hard worker and just a generally nice person to work with.”
Amy, a married mother of six, feels she has a calling to be a nurse. Being a caretaker is part of who she is according to Amy and she stated that she loves helping people get better!
