Amy's extraordinary compassionate care to Mrs. K and her family will never be forgotten either by the family or her coworkers.
The day started out as so many in ARU. Mrs. K. and her son were brought back for a pre-procedure workup. She was tenderly attended by her son who helped his mom change. Amy cheerfully cared for Mrs. K. and bonded immediately with the patient and son.
Unfortunately, Mrs. K. had complications and eventually passed in the Cath Lab. Amy was emotional and crying but found the courage to offer emotional support to the family as the devastating news relayed to the family. Amy, like an angel with wings of loving care, tenderness, and dignity, surrounded the family and stayed by their side. Amy performed postmortem care on Mrs. K. Carefully removing tubes, combing her hair, and carefully placing her hands above the sheets so her family "could touch her hands for the last time". Clearly, the therapeutic relationship between nurse and patient has evolved to hearts grieving and supporting through what was the worse day in their lives. Amy's extraordinary compassionate care to Mrs. K and her family will never be forgotten either by the family or her coworkers.
As noted above, Amy cares for all her patients with the utmost care and professionalism. Amy is dedicated and an asset to her ARU Team! As a team leader, Amy is ready to take an assignment, does not complain, and seeks to help all her coworkers.
