I came into ED from church. They were giving a sermon on Mental Health. I had been fighting depression for a very long time. At this visit, I had attempted suicide several times, been in and out of hospitals. I got the luck of the draw when Aminda was my nurse. She kept saying, "It's my job." This was so much more than that. I was in the ED for a very very long time...over 2 hours. She was a step ahead of things. Calling ahead for tests, consults, even machine malfunctions. She kept checking on me several times that day. When she couldn't take care of me, she got a sitter to stay with me. She would take a minute or two to talk with me and asked me if I needed anything. She made sure that I had meals, fluids, and snacks. I know that I would have not made it without her. Aminda is one of a kind. Thank you with all my heart!
