Our son was born 10 weeks early at 30 weeks, 1 day gestation. He was immediately admitted to the NICU where he spent the next 54 days. I want you to know how much I appreciate Amber Lovett's hard work and love the day our preemie son was so, so sick. I'll always remember how Amber handled that day like a true professional, and never let our baby suffer. I was a torn up mess that day, but seeing how calmly and methodically Amber handled his downward turns that included desaturations and bradycardia episodes over and over again kept me calm despite my inner being wanting to crumble into a million stressed out pieces. She stayed late for our baby that day, not because she had to, but because she wanted to.
Amber wanted to be the nurse to continue following him with the all the blood draws, urine sample collection and charting of what our stressful day entailed rather than passing him off to the night shift RN. She needs to know how much her extra time and effort means to me as I sit and look at our handsome, smart, sweet baby sleeping with no oxygen or apnea monitor right now.
It's important to let people know when you appreciate something they've done for you, and this is a sincere thank you to Amber for getting Reagan through his worst day in the NICU. She will always be special to us!
