Amber was my overnight nurse for three days in a row, and she is also the only nurse I had that truly listened to me cope with the stresses of my new family. I had twin girls born 18 months prior, and now I just had my new set of twins. I was overwhelmed, in pain, and scared. I didn't know how to cope or what to do, and breastfeeding was the last thing on my mind.

Amber talked me through it all, helped me find peace in the fact that my family had grown bigger that I could have expected, and walked me through breastfeeding and the perks of being able to do it. I had a couple of crying fits because my son wouldn't latch-on well. I was in agony from the gas caused by the c-section and even pain medication didn't seem to help. Amber was the one who was right there with me, practically holding my hand while I cried and complained. She kept up on my pain meds and did everything she could to make my stay comfortable and pleasant.

I really feel as if I made a new friend with her. I wouldn't have traded our new found friendship for the world. Amber took excellent care of my newborns when I was incapable of doing so, due to pain and constipation/cramping. She never got irritated with me, and never threw me any attitude, even though I'm sure the multitude of requests and nurse calls I made were probably very stressful, considering her job is a busy one, without me bugging her every time I needed a friend (often).

Needless to say, Amber really is the BEST nurse I've ever had. I can honestly say that if ANYBODY deserves the DAISY Award, it's Amber. She went above and beyond her call of duty to make me feel comfortable, welcome and cared about. I wish I could thank her again and again.
