There are numerous reasons why Amanda Meek should be our DAISY Nurse! Amanda always goes above and beyond to not only help our patients but also our co-workers. She makes sure staff have what they need to do their jobs and care for our patients. She helps develop members of our healthcare team and is always willing to assist when needed.
There was a recent situation with a very distraught dementia patient that needed an IV. The patient was scared, confused and yelling making it difficult to start an IV. Amanda came into the room and began singing to the patient to calm her down as she started the IV. The patient relaxed and smiled while Amanda sang to her and successfully completed her IV.
