I visited the ER for chest pains. Allenson Clark was the nurse on duty and she took excellent care of me. I was released based on tests and was planning to do an echo and other tests through outpatient services. Later that night while home I experience severe pain and my wife called 911. There I was back in the ER, Nurse Allenson was still on the floor and she noticed me coming in on the stretcher. This lovely lady held my hand and offered total comfort to me and explained every process that was going on.
She never let go of my hand and her compassion, dedication and caring for human life was on full display. The entire ER staff was working on me, calling in cath lab members and I knew the sense of urgency, based on the staff's actions. I rushed to the cath lab where I stayed for 3 hours. I had 100% blockage in the right side of my heart. Allenson had clocked out of her shift and still decided to stay instead of going home to her family. She sat with my wife and my family until they all knew that I was ok.
The comfort that she offered my wife and my family is something that we still talk about to this day. What an amazing asset you have in Allenson and what amazing care she gave me along with the entire staff. I am forever grateful to Allenson and BRH.
Allenson went above and beyond the call of duty. I will never forget how she touched my hand and reassured me, stayed positive and helped me in my darkest hour.
