I was admitted to this ward as an emergency, 120 miles away from my home which made me feel very down and vulnerable. Ali has such a calming, nice, caring and compassionate manner that instantly puts you at ease. My medical condition is quite personal and brings embarrassment, but I was reassured by Ali that everything was okay and I was not to worry. My pain was dealt with as I expressed it and was never questioned or disregarded. Care, compassion and honesty is everything you wish for from a nurse and I got all this from Ali and even a cuddle as I was feeling so lonely and in pain. Things like this go beyond basic care. I chose not to tell staff that I am actually a senior nurse with 18 years of experience all over the country and world. So I can make a very good judgment of what I feel is an exceptional nurse. Nurses are so busy and cannot always deliver everything on time or give you the results and answers you want. But to smile, be polite, listen, care, be friendly and honest with utmost compassion means everything to a patient like me and you don't forget the good nurses. So thank you to Ali.
