Shortly after arriving at the hospital and meeting with the emergency room doctor, we realized our 9 day old son might have an intestinal blockage and the situation was much more serious than we could have imagined. After 12 hours of testing, my son was admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Scared, confused, and exhausted did not begin to describe what we were feeling. We had no idea what lay ahead, nor how wonderful your entire staff would be. Most importantly they treated my son and my entire family with care and compassion. One of the nurses on your staff who stood out was Aimee Fennimore.

Aimee's care for my son was nothing short of amazing. She provided my wife and me with a sense of comfort we were searching for. Aimee went above and beyond her duties as a nurse and even called the hospital to check on my son on her days off. There is one moment that stands out the most in my mind which demonstrated Aimee's level of caring and awareness for what our family was experiencing. As she finished one of the routine checks on my son, my wife had noticeably been crying. Aimee turned to her and without saying a word gave her a hug. That hug not only comforted my wife, it touched me.

Hospitals are amazing places where miracles of medicine happen every day, but there is no medical treatment in the world that could have comforted my family the way Nurse Aimee did at that moment. We felt like God was with us during our stay at Saint Peter's and he certainly sent one of his angels, Nurse Aimee, to help us through that difficult time.
