I was on bed rest on the antepartum floor and my umbilical cord prolapsed. I was so scared and didn't know what to do or even what was happening. I could tell something was wrong so I laid back down on the bed and pushed the call button over and over in panic. Adrienne came running into the room to see what was wrong. I showed her what I didn't know at the time was my umbilical cord. She immediately sprang into action and climbed up on the bed and calling for help as she pushed the cord back into me. More help came, of course, and Adrienne steadily worked to save my little one as we were pushed to the operating room. She was so wonderful. Very proactive while talking to me and keeping me calm in this very high stress situation. She had been my nurse a few nights in the unit and had my trust and liking as a nurse. She held us together all the way to the OR and throughout the surgery. She was amazing. Now the baby and I are both doing fine and we have her to thank. If she hadn't known what to do and acted on it so quickly I might have lost my son.
