Addison worked very hard to make 2 necessary discharges occur. Dealing with the first family has not been easy. The patient needed to be released after a prolonged 20-day stay. She had to have a PEG tube placed and we had to be sure she was able to tolerate her feeds before she could be discharged. Addison made multiple calls to Dr. Zillweger's office and requested the placement x-ray of the PEG tube be STAT so we could move forward with the discharge, while dealing with the difficult family successfully.
He also had a family crisis in room 34 with 2 nieces and their aunt who was sent here from another facility, only to need reassessment by therapy and then returned to that facility the same day. There was also a demanding patient in another room and another who was very impatiently awaiting discharge. Addison was very professional through it all. Addison's clinical assessment and judgment skills are very accurate and he is never afraid to tackle any task that is asked of him without complaints. He is always prepared for report, is pleasant to deal with, and asks appropriate questions regarding the plan of care.
There are people on this unit who make it a better place to work through their professionalism and character and I feel Addison is one of those people.
