Vicky was nominated by a teen mom and her mother who attended "Young Parents to Be" classes.

The patient writes:

Vicky showed a lot of caring in teaching young parents about themselves and their baby. She completed the lessons in a timely fashion and communicated the information very well. She answered our questions and offered to help the best she could. She provided us with lots of information about the hospital and other info to help me become a new young mother. Vicky is very courteous and took great care to help make me be aware of my role as a new mother. Thank you Vicky for all of your support. My mother and I are glad we had these classes with you.

Her Director writes:

Vicky Hearsey is an asset to the Women's Services Team. She role models teamwork, professionalism and compassion in all that she does. Vicky started the Young Parents To Be class (for moms under the age of 21) through a March of Dimes grant received two years ago. The grant ended but Vicky continued to reach out to the schools, the community, and to the physician offices in an effort to increase the number of young moms reached and educated. She teaches the class with such compassion and care that the young moms often ask for her by name when they arrive to have their babies. Vicky is well respected among her peers and by the Leadership team. She is a leader, a teacher, a mentor, and an excellent care giver! Thank you Vicky!
