Terry Clevenger came to the CLC recently from 4B North. Although he has only worked on this unit a few months, his compassionate and extraordinary care for our residents makes it seem like he's been here a lifetime. He goes above and beyond to ensure that our veterans are taken care of. Recently, one of our residents was readmitted back to the unit late in the afternoon. This resident had new insulin orders and the oncoming nurse was confused on how to give it. Terry stayed until after 5 pm to explain the new orders to ensure that the evening nurse was able to give it correctly. This is just one situation out of so many since Terry has become a part of our unit. He is definitely a team player. Other nursing assistants on the unit, along with me, have so much respect for him because he is not the kind of nurse that thinks hands on patient care is beneath him. He is always willing to lend a helping hand when it comes to our veterans and staff. Terry never complains and always has an awesome attitude. I can see why 4BN wants him back. Terry deserves this DAISY Award because he truly demonstrates the VA's core values of Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence each and every day.
