An elderly patient was noticeably concerned about her hospital stay. When asked she said she was worried that her cats were left unattended at home. She had no family or friends who could stop by and check on her beloved pets. Terri Mears and a patient care tech asked permission to help. They went to her house, fed and watered her cats and even cleared out the litter box. This is a great example of exceptional patient care.

Terri went above and beyond to help out the critical care unit when we were faced with 4-1:1s, full census, high acuity, multiple triples and short nurses and techs. She took it upon herself to take herself out of her ANM role. She then put herself in the Clinical Lead role in CVT, to take a patient assignment to free up a nurse to give to Critical Care. In addition, she released their sitter, pulled their tech to be the sitter, so the sitter could come be a HUC for us.
