This week, one example is her dedication to the LMP. Upon seeing the initial poster board for our LMP roadshow, highlighting our DBT safety project, Tena thought that creatively, it could be improved upon. She took the initiative to take the project home with her and using her personal scrapbooking materials, significantly enhanced the caliber of our Simi Valley board. Tena is always highly motivated, willing to be flexible with her assignments without ever complaining, a wonderful mentor to new float nurses being trained, etc. I believe that if we could have more nurses like Tena, it would be a boost to the professionalism of the organization. A big thanks to Tena for all she does, each and every day.

Some additional examples of Tena going above and beyond are, upon reviewing the Smiley face report, she noticed that there was a significant gap in Mammos for one of the MDs in her module. She consulted with the doctor, ran a list of patients and worked herself on getting the members in for appointments. In one month, she was successful at reducing open gaps by 50 patients. Undoubtedly, lives were saved because of the initiative Tena shows.

Tena is also one of our expert mentors for our new float pool personnel. She is instrumental at helping new nurses feel comfortable with the workflows at our facility.
