Sue received her DAISY Award for stepping up into the leadership role in the urology clinic. Several times, Sue has prevented medical errors while overseeing the clinic which in return increase patient safety. She works in a busy clinic and manages the clinic by herself. Several occasions Sue is forced to work alone due to staffing. She never complains, always saying "That I'm here for the Veteran". If she wasn't in the urology clinic Veterans wouldn't receive the care they need.

Back in January my dad had to return to the clinic after a procedure. During the appointment my dad had some discomfort; Sue started to talk to my dad to comfort him. The physician spoke inappropriately to Sue, but Sue kept performing her duties and ensuring my dad was taken care of. After this ordeal we had to make another follow up appointment at the desk. Sue was then behind the desk, it was that time I said to her I am so sorry you had to be treated that way. The whole thing was too much for me, I started to cry. Sue came around to me, hugged me and told me it's alright, don't cry. She also hugged my dad and told him to get better soon.
As far as what "I CARE" principle she falls under - I'd say every one! Above all Sue is caring, loving, and compassionate, she is committed to serve. Thanks, Sue you are truly an asset to Lebanon VA.
P.S. Since this incident my dad has "adopted" Sue as his "granddaughter".
