I was diagnosed with aggressive B-Cell Lymphoma in March and when I started going to CTCA I was scared, nervous, anxious and terrified. My plan of treatment was very aggressive and they began chemo my 1st week there. Needless to say, when I arrived at Infusion I felt like I would throw up. I didn't know everything I needed to know about chemo and they told me my infusion would take 12 hours. That's a very long time to sit in a bay attached to an IV. My anxiety level was through the roof.

As soon as Stephanie walked in I had a sense of peace wash over me. I knew from the moment I met her that I was in great hands. She walked in with a smile on her face and quickly began explaining every step of the process to me and my wife. Everything she did was explained to the full extent so that I was comfortable and my nerves were calm. She made it a point to check on me often during my treatment to make sure everything was going well and to answer my questions.

During the time I was there Stephanie made it a point to get know me and my family. She asked me questions and we talked about my life. To her it wasn't just a job to get in, get done and get out. She kept my mind busy with talk about me and my life so that I didn't concentrate on the chemo. Stephanie is the most caring and compassionate nurse that I have ever encountered. It shows that she has a love for her job just by the care and compassion she shows to her patients.

I went through 8 rounds of chemo and numerous occasions that it didn't work out where she could be my nurse she would always come to visit, check on on me and my family and we would talk about how things were going with me and my treatment. She didn't have to do this but because it is obvious she loves her job and she always went above and beyond. Every time I was in infusion my wife was always with me. She always included her in the plan of care, asked her if she had questions and would always ask how she was doing and made a point to provide levels of comfort to her. Also on several occasions my 2 children made the trip with us and she treated my kids with such love and always included them in the process by explaining what she was doing to ease their fears.

Stephanie is one of a kind and nursing was her calling and she is an angel on earth. CTCA hit the jackpot when they hired Stephanie and I am honored to call her my friend. She will forever be a Godsend to me and my family and for that I would like to thank her. If anyone is deserving of this award it is Stephanie, she is the best nurse I have ever had the privilege of knowing!
