Sherry Hankins has worked at Roper Hospital since 1998 working as a unit secretary, ED Tech, and an RN. She works as a Charge RN in the ER leading by example and dedication to the ER and Roper System. She is respected by her peers and physicians as an excellent resource and will to do whatever it takes to get the job done. She sets high expectations for herself and those around her striving to always provide excellent patient care. She frequently gets calls from inpatient areas to help with IV starts due to her fantastic skills!!

Sherry also serves as the Trauma Coordinator for the system and works diligently to ensure our documentation is up to date. Thanks to her hard work we were re-designated as a Level 3 Trauma Center. Sherry also served for several years on the ED Leadership Council and now serves on Hospital Shared Governance working with Recruitment and Retention. Despite her full-time position working WOW and as the trauma coordinator Sherry often sacrifices days off to come in to assist with Shared Governance and departmental needs. Sherry has worked extensively with this group to honor nurses throughout our organization and recognize other's hard work and now I think it is time to recognize her for her hard work!

She is also a member of the Emergency Nurse's Association and serves as an active participant. Despite her busy schedule Sherry is also working on her MSN to further her career. Sherry exemplifies an employee that is dedicated to the Roper Saint Francis Healthcare mission and values and serves as a great role model for her peers. She is a true asset to the ER and the Roper System!
