My husband and I are retired; we sold our house and travel the U.S. in our motor home enjoying God's country. Approximately 5 weeks ago we were getting gas to head out for our next adventure. While pumping gas my husband collapsed. Sandy Henemyer was a pump behind us; she stopped pumping her gas and rushed to my husband's side. She called 911, sent someone into the gas station to get more help, controlled the growing group of onlookers and performed CPR all at the same time. When the paramedics arrived she reported to them then came to my side. She explained what they were doing and reassured me that his heart was now beating and they would take good care of him. She was so caring and compassionate. She was in control of the situation by being direct yet courteous. She kept composure with all the people now trying to catch a glimpse of what was unfolding. I cannot drive the motor home so she found a gentleman that moved it for me from the pumps to the parking lot next door and locked it up for me.

The world is not the way it was 74 years ago when I was growing up. No one takes the time to get involved anymore. Because of Sandy we are able to celebrate our 57th wedding anniversary. She is one of the most professional, compassionate, caring people I have ever met. If she is any indication of the caliber of individuals employed at Summerlin Hospital you must be very proud of your amazing facility.
