We nominate Said Hassan, staff nurse 1, from Surgical Clinic, for the DAISY Award. Said Hassan is a devoted nurse who's been working at King Faisal Specialist Hospital for over 32 years. His specialty is in the Urology clinic, Uroflow, Urodynamic, and Andrology. With that said, you can find him working in multiple clinics including plastic surgery clinic, oncology clinic, general surgery clinic and many more. He is known for providing excellent nursing care to the patients and their families.

He has strong leadership skills that set him apart because he's always willing to help others whether it's the patients, their families, or even his fellow staff nurses. He is very kind hearted and always welcomes you with a warm smile.

Said Hassan is the male pioneer of urodynamic and uroflow clinics and it is with his knowledge and help that he was able to precept other staff to be able to work in those clinics. He is always professional and easy to approach which is why his patients are always looking for him when they are in need. They know him as "Baba Said" and therefore even doctors and the nurses from the clinic are now calling him "Baba Said". With his winning attitude he makes a difference. In crisis situations he always remains calm and takes control of the situation especially in the urology clinic which receives a large amount of patients. He is able to reassure the patients and their families and provides them with emotional support as a lot of them are cancer patients in urology and oncology.

He is an active team member, taking part of the urology streamlining project which was aimed to reduce the waiting time and to increase patient satisfaction. He is an exceptional nurse who goes the extra mile for his patients. He's an expert in different catheterization, such as supra pubic catheterization, and when staff nurses have a difficult patient to catheterize they know they can rely on him for help. As the clinic has non-Arabic speakers sometimes it gets challenging but he's always available to interpret and explain the educational material to the patients and their families. His professional involvement also includes the developing of the IPP: Catheter - Associated Urinary Tract Infection (CAUTI).

His devotion to patient care is showed through his critical thinking. For example, he investigated one case where the PSA lab result was presumed abnormal but after contacting the lab specialist he was informed that they were using a new machine that wrote the result in a different manner and that saved the physicians from referring the patient to different specialty and the patient from undergoing various tests.

He's a compassionate, trustworthy, respectful and humble person who's always ready to share his knowledge and experience to benefit the rest of the team. It is a privilege to work with someone on whom you can really depend on. He also volunteers to stay after clinic hours to help out when we are running behind on schedule.

To appreciate our nurses we decided within our own surgical/urology clinic to initiate a new project to recognize one another each month as the "employee of the month" and it is not surprising that he won the first round.

We sincerely hope that our "Baba Said" will be recognized through the Daisy Award because we truly believe that he makes a huge difference in all our lives. We are truly blessed to have such an amazing team member who goes above and beyond to ensure the wellness of his patients and colleagues.
