Recently I had the first-hand opportunity to observe Robyn during an exceptional event at Milford Memorial Hospital. A water pipe broke earlier in the day causing 22 patients to be evacuated from 2W onto various nursing units throughout the hospital. Many countless heroes worked diligently during the day and evening to relocate 8 patients back to 2W. Robyn was at the forefront of our "transport team" going from Rehab to the ED and the ICU, bringing patients and equipment back to 2W.

Through each patient interaction, I was able to observe dignity, respect, compassion and integrity. As our team leader, Robyn led the way with confidence and humor, which put the patients at ease. She co-signed for an insulin admin, assisted a patient with a meal tray, packed up belongings, applied oxygen, and held a patient's hand during transports.

Her ability to jump into any patient care interaction with the grace and ease of a seasoned professional was heartwarming and reminded me of why I became a nurse. Thank you Robyn, for your breadth of knowledge, your clinical skills, your caring heart, and your wonderful smile. What a blessing you are to us all and most deserving of the prestigious DAISY Award.
