I am the daughter of a patient that was in the Restorative Care Unit in September 2011. I wanted to nominate Reshunda Price for the “DAISY Award”. I have attached a short story about her during our stay.

I wanted to take this time to let you know what an incredible staff you have in the Restorative Care Unit at Baptist Memorial Hospital (East). My father was in the Restorative care unit for a couple of weeks in September of 2011. His nurse was amazing. Her name is Reshunda Price. She was always there to provide an answer to our many questions and address any concerns we had. She was compassionate, caring, sincere and very knowledgeable. She also did an amazing job putting my mother at ease during an extremely difficult time. I can’t say enough good things about her. Unfortunately, my father passed away while he was there. In the back of our minds, we knew this was going to happen. It was the most difficult time in all of our lives. Reshunda actually helped comfort us at the time. As my father’s condition deteriorated, my mother was in denial. I can remember her getting down on one knee and holding my mother’s hand, talking to her the whole time and letting her know that everything would be okay. We had all done that a million times but somehow she had a soothing effect on Mom. You have a true treasure in Reshunda and I hope she continues in that wing. It is her calling!

Your entire staff has been great!! They were always very alert and attentive to any situation. I can’t thank them enough for their understanding and commitment to excellence where healthcare is concerned.
