My dad went into the hospital for a simple procedure to revise his fistula. Upon arrival and looking at blood work and tests, the doctor came into the pre-op room to visit with us. As we talked, I informed him that we had been concerned about Dad's foot and I was planning on scheduling an appointment with him in the very near future. Well, he decided to look at that foot right away and changed the course of the day. The foot was infected beyond repair. Dad had told me he would not have any part amputated...if that were going to be the case he would just stop dialysis. After discussing options for a lengthy period of time, Dad agreed to the foot surgery. I'm not sure if that day was my first time in contact with Peggy or if it was another day...that day however, was the beginning of a journey I could not have survived without her help, support, knowledge, and encouragement!

I remember Peggy coming to Dad's room at some point...I was extremely confused and distraught as this was the first major catastrophe we had faced without my Mom who had recently been killed in a car accident. I had no idea what the next few days, weeks, or months would entail. I remember talking to Peggy several times that week...she was so prompt at returning phone calls and informing me about what was going on with the doctors. Explaining things to me that I completely did not understand and making sure that by the time she left the room or our phone conversation ended, I had some idea of what was happening at that particular moment! I sincerely cannot thank Peggy enough!

Peggy, I sincerely thank you for the care you gave not only my Dad but me as well! Please know I have thought of you often in the last three years! I hope you continue making a difference in people's lives...always remember and believe that you do make an impact and are truly appreciated! I wish you well as you continue your journey and may God continue to bless you!
