As every parent knows, or quickly finds out, the stress of a newborn doesn't end with the labor and delivery. Any new mother anticipating breastfeeding her little baby knows the multiple benefits of breastfeeding, but also can't anticipate the challenges. With that being said, I cannot thank the labor and delivery nurses and lactation nurses enough for their continued support through not just the labor and delivery process, but the continued postpartum care and breastfeeding education. As a mother who had her fair share of challenges breastfeeding, I knew the benefits and wanted to give my newborn the very best. With these challenges, we were introduced to Pauline, lactation consultant and RN. Her knowledge, patience, and willingness to help throughout this learning curve was incredible. She stopped in frequently to ensure everything was going well. She offered multiple tips, tricks and education, along with calming words of encouragement. Following our stay at the birthing unit she continued to follow up with us, continuing to show she truly cared about her patients and the amazing job she does. I credit our breastfeeding success to Pauline's help.
