This nominee absolutely shines and is a prime example of how diverse nursing opportunities can be, and how a D.A.I.S.Y. nurse can be consistently successful in many different facets of nursing. Pat is an exemplary nurse who has provided compassionate care at the bedside for many years, and now impacts the quality of patient care from an IS approach. For some time I have been privileged to work with Pat. As TMC has made it's steady progression towards necessary change she, who originally won hearts as an outstanding nurse in L and D, has helped shape our future. Her patient nature makes her a pleasure to work with and learn from. Pat has been a member of countless development processes benefiting the bedside nurse for a number of years including the Epic system she helped roll out years ago. Pat’s most outstanding hour in my memory has been her dedication to the development and "go live" of the One Chart system. It is nurses like this amazing nominee that have helped make this EMR a true Nursing achievement. Pat has focused at every turn on making it "right" for the nurse so the patients can be cared for safely. Her incredible work ethic and admirable determination shined during the One Chart implementation. Pat’s very long hours at work during this process went far and beyond the call of any nurse's duty. Clearly she was very dedicated and played a big part in it's success. The very talented and intelligent Pat continues to be available to us and always seems to have an answer. If a change needs to be made Pat takes aim at getting it accomplished so the electronic chart both fits our needs and focuses on the patient. Pat is a true leader and exemplifies professionalism in nursing.
It has been a great privilege to work with her over these many years. Pat sets an excellent example for us all, and inspires all of us to provide the most compassionate, competent, and technologically skilled care to our patients. If you ask her peers about what they think about the nominee, this is what they will say, “Pat is very level headed, and calm in the face of challenges. She has a wonderful ability to think of the whole picture and the whole process to do what is right and best for patient care. Pat is approachable and friendly in her teaching methods. Pat has excelled in all of her roles as L&D
