I am a monitor tech in the EMU and on occasions we will monitor patients' brain waves long term. Natalie had a baby whose EEG showed no brain waves. Not once did she ever treat that baby any differently than any other baby. She showed compassion and caring in her caring of that little human. She would constantly check on the baby and make sure that the baby was as comfortable as possible, keeping all the IV tubes, cardiac wires and others away from the baby as much as possible and not tangled. Upon her leaving the room she would always touch the baby's arm or cheek, just like a mother would, the "human touch".

One thing in particular touched my heart deeply. She went in and gently took the baby's head in her hand while gently hugging the baby, the whole time talking to him (this actually brought tears to my eyes). She didn't need to do this, the baby could not feel or hear anything, but this didn't stop her. I believe that this is what we needed today more than ever. She is definitely an awesome, compassionate, caring nurse.
