Michelle Pegel has served on the Unit Practice Counsel and promoted the agendas to include the recently adopted ADT nurse (Admission-Discharge-Transfer). She is a vocal enthusiastic support of the Patient Caring Touch System of Care. Her compliance to hourly rounding, using the Q2U25P tool, developed to enhance the experience clearly demonstrates her commitment to transforming nursing care at the bedside.

Nurse Pegel has quite non-threatening personality. She encourages and promotes her team in making sound decisions. When in Charge she is respected and many times is given positive feedback regarding her patient assignments. She is aware of team concept in nursing and makes every effort to make the assignment match the team.

I have witnessed Nurse Pegel in crisis and rapid response situations and found her to be involved, composed and in control. Her team moving in and out of the situation keeping her abreast of all the changes and Nurse Pegel keeping focused on the current events and never losing her attention on the goal of providing safe nurturing care.

Nurse Pegel throughout all the craziness and whirlwind will make time to ensure that the patient is always aware and involved in their care. She will be at the bedside holding their hand, brushing their hair, changing their bed, wiping their face with a warm moist towel. She will be in the day room talking to the family keeping them aware of any changes to their loved ones. She keeps her heart in nursing and many times shares that much needed tear.
