I had a broken nose and was depressed and very sad. Melissa came in the room and her smile and comments light up the room to the extent the patient has no choice but to smile. Without knowing it, her encouragement helped give me a resounding hope and determination to fight my sickness and fight to want to stay alive. It’s unbelievable – her effect on me! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE give Melissa the DAISY Award!

Melissa began her journey with GAMC in November of 2009. She graduated with her BSN from Walla-Walla University in Washington. Her mom is also a retired nurse!

It is my pleasure to honor Melissa with this DAISY Award. I have been working with her for the past two years in NTU. She is professional in her attitude and demeanor. She is flexible, caring, kind, helpful, supportive self-directed, and communicates well with staff and patients. She integrates concepts and performs competently in stressful and challenging situations.
I was always pleased to see her listen attentively to the needs and concerns of her patients and ask the right questions of her instructors in order to provide knowledgeable, compassionate care. She has a hardworking attitude, is always motivated and willing to go the extra mile. Melissa is a pleasure to have in NTU, and all her peers enjoy working with her as well.
