My mom was a patient at ECMC in July and again from in January. Mary is amazing and truly something special! During my mom's first hospital stay, on the day she was scheduled to have her first perm-catheter surgically implanted, it was Mary's calm reassuring voice and detailed, yet easy-to-understand explanation of what was about to happen that really helped get us through the day. We were scared and yet, after speaking to her, we felt much more comfortable and at-ease about what was going to happen. It was as if my mom had been sent her own guardian angel. Mary even knew that my mom likes to be called "Roe" and my mom immediately felt less stressed evidenced by the look on her face. In fact, her whole demeanor changed. She had been very nervous and was now calm and accepting.

After that day, every time we saw Mary at ECMC, my mom was better for it. She was very knowledgeable and knew the right questions to ask. Mary was inquisitive and we felt very reassured knowing she was looking out for us. Her follow-up was excellent. We believe Mary was instrumental in my mom's healing so well and having such favorable results. She is "one in a million," someone who made a big difference in our lives, and we are very grateful.

Mary Lynch is someone who epitomizes all the positive attributes the nursing profession possesses.
