My husband was in ICU at Douglas then went to Windy Hill and back to Douglas then back to Windy Hill. He came home from Windy Hill and was so weak he could not get off the couch. It took over two weeks to figure out how to get him up. I called a care coordinator at Windy Hill who was not able to help. After a full week of him sleeping on the couch, I felt so bad for him and like nobody cared. It was like I was drowning. I felt sorry for my husband but could not get any help. Then I thought about how good everyone at WellStar Douglas had been to us. I called the ICU nurses station and got right through to Marcia Evans.
She was the most caring person I have ever talked to. Not only did she get my husband a hospital bed, she managed to get it delivered that day! Her kindness did not stop there. She wanted me to call her to let her know we got the bed. I don't think you have a better person working there. There are some really good and kind nurses that I think are great but Marcia outshines them all. I think she deserves this award for all that she does for other people! She gave me money for gas, food and pet food for my dog. She goes above and beyond!
