I have worked with Mandish for years and she is quite possibly the most thorough RN I have met. She is very kind to her patients and I would feel very confident if she was taking care of any of my friends or family.

Mandish has devoted nearly 30 years of her nursing career to delivering exemplary, compassionate care to patients at Harborview Medical Center. Despite the often stressful, fast paced environment of the institution, Mandish consistently maintains a "patient first" attitude and does not lose sight of our mission to deliver first rate health care to the neediest in our community. She always approaches patients and families with a warm, empathetic manner. She actively listens to their concerns and, most importantly, responds to meet their needs so that they feel heard and cared for.

Mandish is a tenacious patient advocate and is undaunted by hospital hierarchy when ensuring that patients receive the care they deserve. Whether the issue is ensuring proper procedure is followed by her colleagues to ensure pt safety or advocating for a more effective plan of patient care to physician colleagues, Mandish is persistent, articulate, professional and most often successful. She simply will not go away until an issue is remedied satisfactorily. This is not ego at work here, it is integrity. As a colleague, Mandish is supportive team member and works to make the unit run smoothly and effectively. She is a role model, particularly to younger nurses, and uses her listening skills along with her many years of experience to help others evaluate and solve problems with a critical, science based approach. This level headedness paired with a warm, personable manner makes her a pleasure to work with I whole heartedly and without reservation nominate my colleague Mandish Dhaliwal for the DAISY Award.
