From the first time meeting, Majken was my assigned nurse, she greatly impressed me with her incredible skill and knowledge. Majken started my IV with ease when no one else could. She was an expert on administering my medication. Majken was incredibly thorough with double checking my wrist band, medications, and other doctor's orders. Her patients are the luckiest patients in the world because they will walk away from Majken's care knowing in their heart everything really will be okay.
Last spring I had a particularly horrible day. I had received some very upsetting news, I was in the ETC all by myself. My husband and I have two small children and my biggest fear in the world is leaving them without a mom. I was alone, terrified, and hysterically upset. Majken took my hand, looked me in the eye and told me "you are not alone. I am here with you for this. We can do this. You are stronger than you know."
Majken Sumicad deserves this DAISY Award because she is my hero.
