I met Lynn Marzinski in the Brandmeyer Patient Resource Center. I cannot tell you how professional, caring and supportive she has been to me on many occasions. She has sat with me; sharing information about the resource center while I received chemotherapy. I have had the opportunity to visit her in the resource center many times as I have come and gone. And during a major adjustment I had to make in my life learning about Epilepsy, after I had a reaction to a chemo agent, Lynn was there to help me work through that matter. Lynn’s frank description of my situations went something like this: “If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and walks like a duck, let’s call it a duck.”

Following that description, Lynn was able to help me come up with a plan that ultimately helped me overcome the problems I was having with seizures. It was her advice that helped me make adjustments in my daily routine that finally helped me get the seizures under control. Her advice was priceless to help me learn what I needed to do even though my Neurologist and her team had given me information. It was Lynn who helped me realize what I was dealing with and what I had to do to get things under control. The duck story helped me a lot.

In addition, I want to tell you that the resource center is priceless. I always find information there that helps me educate myself about my medical situation. I have also used the computers provided there to update my family, friends and colleagues between appointments.

People don’t want to hear what you have to say until you have proven how much you care about them. In my experience, Lynn has proven many times how much she cares about the people she supports. It is because of that I would like to request that you honor Lynn’s service to the patients, family members and caregivers that come and go there at the resource center.
