Lynn shared many stories with me of the Veterans he served; his compassion and respect shined on his face as he would express the time he was able to share with the Veterans and their families. I believe that Lynn has made a difference in the Veterans by creating an environment where compassionate care thrives. Lynn's caseload takes him into rural communities, doing "house visits". What an extraordinary commitment and set of values it takes to maintain the long hours of travelling to the Veterans and providing them treatment they would not have, if not for this dedicated nurse.
When I have complemented Lynn on the inspirational and extraordinary treatment he provided, more than once Lynn has responded, "I really didn't do anything so special, I was doing my job". Amazingly humble words! Lynn does not simply "do his job"; Lynn has shared a part of himself that has made a difference to so many with his dedicated care.
