Clarian North Daisy Award Winner
Lori Robertson
July 2010

Here is an example of this Daisy Award Winner’s commitment to patient-centered care:

Lori Robertson is extraordinary because she excels in two areas of health care – compassion and companionship.

The family she has cared for has a child who has over 30 admissions to Clarian North – the family is from a neighboring town – and the mother has spent over 200 nights in the PICU.

Recently the doctors delivered very difficult news to the family. That week I saw Lori and the mother going out for dinner and some shopping.

On another occasion Lori arranged for her daughter to have a play date with this family’s 5 year old.

I have seen this mother several times and she told me how Lori has encouraged her to take a break from sitting in the room. She said she enjoyed going out for dinner and some late night shopping.

I nominate Lori for her compassionate care which often is well beyond her shift. I hope she receives the Daisy award. She is very deserving!
