...It is an honor to work with such a compassionate and exceptional individual. Being a seasoned nurse, Lori is well respected by her coworkers and is an important resource to the unit. With her natural, quiet, gentle nature, Lori has the perfect temperament to work with our Oncology patients and their loved ones. A diagnosis of cancer is very frightening, but Lori does a wonderful job of being supportive, informative and is an attentive listener. She treats every patient and family member with the respect and dignity they deserve. She takes the time to calmly talk to her patients and loved ones and they trust her.

The mission of St. Joseph Hospital is important to Lori. She is supportive of many hospital based and community outreach projects. For many years, she has volunteered to be the coordinator for our unit for the Christmas Basket Project. She gave not only her time for the project, but very generously donates many gifts as well. She and her husband save their spare change all year long and always donate this to the project. With this extra money, many families receive an extra special gift during the holiday season. One year, it was for a brand new bicycle a child had asked for. Lori also actively participates in other Cancer Center fundraisers and activities, such as the free screening clinics held by the hospital. She has helped in many of the Art Therapy for Cancer Patients programs by volunteering her time to help the patients and families with their projects. She participates yearly in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, raising money and walking at the event.
