As it turned out, we were only in there for a couple of days, on mostly precautionary measures, but at no time did Lisa make us feel like we were not the most important parents/patients in the hospital.
My wife and I had our first child in March of 2012. As we were getting ready for discharge, our baby girl had some slight complications. One of the doctors that was making rounds at the hospital where we gave birth put the order in to transfer her to Cardinal Glennon. At first, my wife and I were terrified and exhausted. The transportation team was very knowledgeable and comforting. When we arrived to Cardinal Glennon, tests were already being done on our daughter. I was amazed at how fast they received her and started their tests. I will not go into detail of everything that was done, but I will say that everyone at the hospital was amazing. They comforted us, and they took care of us. They provided everything that we needed. My wife and I want to thank one person in particular. Lisa Cornell, our nurse, in the NICU for most of the time we were there, was amazing. She helped us understand everything that was going on. She helped teach my wife about being a mother for the first time. As it turned out, we were only in there for a couple of days, on mostly precautionary measures, but at no time did Lisa make us feel like we were not the most important parents/patients in the hospital. She was a Godsend. We would like to express our gratitude and thanks for everything she and the rest of the NICU team did for us. I believe that everyone that works at Cardinal Glennon has been touched by the hand of God.
