On September 24 my husband was in a motorcycle accident. He had the misfortune of hitting a deer on his way to work. Linda Sundberg stopped at the scene and stabilized my husband and assessed his injuries. My husband asked if she would call me, his wife. She called and explained what had happened. I was immediately in panic mode. She was calm when I wasn't; she was reassuring when I was scared to death, and compassionate and caring as she explained that she was holding my husband's hand until I could get there. She stayed on the phone with me keeping me calm and safe as well. As I arrived at the scene she immediately, called me over. It was at that time she released my husband's hand so I could hold it for a few minutes before they took him away in the ambulance. As the ambulance pulled away she gave me a much needed hug and told me to follow her to Hamot hospital, knowing full well that I would drive too fast. As my husband left for work that day, I asked God to keep him safe. I believe with all my heart that Linda was our Guardian Angel that day. She even visited my husband in the ICU, reaffirming what a thoughtful person she is. My husband and I would like to thank Linda for all of those wonderful qualities she possesses. She made a horrible situation bearable. Professionalism, concern, and compassion; she is truly an asset to Hamot Hospital and her nursing profession.
