My 86 year old mother was admitted to the MICU on October 10, 2010. It was clearly evident that her CHF had significantly progressed and that the Lord was preparing to take her home very soon. My brothers and sister were present and could not have been more impressed with the compassionate care provided by her nurse, Linda.

She demonstrated an amazing mixture of professionalism, skill, and empathy, making certain that not only was my mother’s needs being taken care of but that our needs were met as well. My mother’s condition was a bit more complicated due to a recently implanted pacemaker. However, Linda’s clinical skill was able to overcome this situation as well.

I certainly realize how busy nurse’s days can be and I am sure that this Sunday morning was no different. Yet, Linda never gave any indication to us that she was rushed or did not have time. She made certain that all our questions were answered while giving us the quiet time we needed.

Thanks to Linda my mother’s final hours with us were peaceful. What more can a family ask for?
