“My mom was admitted to Hamilton and one week later she passed. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and so much more to everyone who knew and loved her. Mom was everything to her family and I think that is why this nurse became so important to us as she cared for our beloved mom. This nurse stood out to my entire family in such a way that I felt that I needed to let her know just how much she had meant to us. I have never written a letter to a hospital, store, or newspaper to speak of an issue or to praise someone for kindness or a heartfelt deed, but the need to do this is so great inside of me. Even though my Mom never opened her eyes or spoke a single word once she arrived on the unit, her nurse Linda Saxon always spoke to her n a gentle and loving way. My Mom was a very modest, independent, and compassionate person and the respect that Nurse Saxon consistently showed her was exactly what my Mom would have wanted. For my family Linda Saxon became the shoulder to lean on, a kind word to explain any question we had or she was the person we went to for comfort in accepting what we knew would come most any day. When my Mom moved further down to a room under the Hospice unit Nurse Saxon came to visit her and my family after her shift ended at the hospital. What a comfort that was to 3ach of us! Talk about above and beyond! What love we felt from this person and caregiver! As I mentioned above, I am not a writer….just a daughter who truly misses her Mom each and every day that past since she went to Heaven. I know she is an angel in Heaven. I also truly believe that Linda Saxon was her angel here on earth. Thank you Nurse Saxon from my entire family! May God bless you and all the Nurses for everything you do each and every day!
