Kirsten Hawkins was my nurse in critical care. She was without exception the best nurse I have ever had-caring for my physical, mental and spiritual needs. She was more interested in me than getting my STATS in the computer. She is the first nurse-ever-to give me a warm, wet cloth for my face in the morning. She asked if I would like to comb my hair and when I said "no" she gave my hair a couple of brushes in all the right spots. She even put toothpaste on my toothbrush. She did these things because I was too weak and sick to do them for myself-she knew it would make me feel better.
You can tell when a person is efficient and Kirsten in my opinion did not waste time on unimportant tasks. She never seemed in a hurry or had more urgent commitments waiting. When she was in my room I was the most important and her priority.
What she says, and how she acts as a person and her wonderful skills of nursing make her a special person.
