Kimberlee, I wanted you to have a picture of B and her puppy in our home, and I wanted you to share it with the others in ICU who helped me get my B home.
We moved the love seat in our sun room so we could put her bed in its place. She loved the sun room with its many windows, only some of which you can see in the picture. She would sit on her love seat with her little dog, Sophie, and look out at the lake, the boats, the birds, the egrets, the blue heron, and also at all of her flowering pots and gardens. This is where she would pour through all her cookbooks and home-making magazines, planning out meals and things she wanted to do for her family. It was her favorite place.
I knew that this is where she had to come, and I knew that if she had any strength left in her, she would use it to get home. Your suggestion to take away the pressers gave her the opportunity to prove it. We got home about 11 am, Dr. S. came at 1 pm and then I lost her.
We were so greatly blessed to have you care for her. I am so glad that you listened to your mother and became a nurse. I am eternally grateful to you for all you did for her, the gentle loving way in which you went about it. You do God’s work, and you do it professionally, faithfully and well.
