As a new nurse on my first day off of orientation, I was very overwhelmed. Kelsey came to my rescue and guided me through my unfamiliar circumstances. She patiently taught me how to perform a task and collaborated with me to achieve success in caring for the patient. Kelsey watched over me and protected me through that first shift alone and continues to check in with me months later. She reduced my fears, calmed my nerves and healed my broken spirit. Kelsey will always be a very important nurse in my life. Through the demonstration of the professional practice roles of a nurse, Kelsey has inspired me to become a better nurse by giving more effective and thoughtful care to the patients.
