Currently my Mom and my sister are both in ICU. One at Methodist, one at the Regional Medical Center. My sister is not doing well. She had heart attack and a stroke, the doctors don't see things improving. However, my Mom on the other hand is steadily progressing and I know this is greatly contributed to the time, care, and love given to her by Registered Nurse Katrina Robinson on 4 Tower.
Not only has Katrina been there for my Mom she has been a huge support to me during this trying time. She asks about my sister and how I'm doing. Her extended care goes from making sure that although my Mom has the preferred cleaning paste for her dentures to making sure here birthday is celebrated in the hospital although she was unable to eat anything and felt bad. She took the time to purchase her a card and a balloon for her from the gift shop and placed it in the room so when she woke up the morning of her birthday she had it. She pushed her more than the other nurses so extremities wouldn't stiffen while being unable to get out of bed. She placed a do not disturb sign on the door when it was felt my Mom was getting exhausted from too many visits. And most importantly she made sure I was involved in her care and clearly informed of next steps!
Katrina is one amazing Nurse that I thank God for being assigned to my Mom at this time!
