We're here in the hospital because of my husband, who turned 90 years old this year. I would describe him as a "difficult" patient. He hates being in the hospital; hence, we, his family, are always here. All the nurses, overall, have been very nice to him and us; however, if I were to bring flowers as a way to say thank you, it would be to Karen. Nothing in particular she did, but, that's just it, she doesn't need to do anything extraordinary because for us, she is a very special person. She has always been like a doctor, caring to my husband's needs in a serious manner, but also treating him and us with compassion and a sincere concern for his and our well-being. Karen is special because she is sincere!

Karen brings a positive attitude and wonderful smile to work each day. Through the many compliments on the Core Value cards she receives, she clearly is willing to share her compassion for healthcare directly with her patients. Patients and families frequently comment on her professionalism, excellent personality, and positive attitude. One patient even commented, "If I ever come to a hospital again, I would like to have her for my nurse."
Karen is an excellent example of being a team player, always willing to help out any member of the 3C team. We are glad that Karen has chosen to be part of the Holy Cross family.
